What the job actually is

The job, in plain English

No office, no cold-call scripts. You go round local shops near you and put them online with a free Bookora page — then you earn from every booking they take. Here’s the whole job, start to finish:

1

Work your own local area

You cover wherever you live — your town or city. Barbers, hairdressers, nail bars, beauty & massage salons, tattoo studios. Pop in for a friendly chat, or book a quick meeting.

2

Find shops that aren’t on Bookora yet

Look for local shops that haven’t been claimed or listed with us yet — the ones with no online booking. Those are the shops you sign up. You’re about to get them taking bookings online, for free.

3

Sign them up — free booking page & website

Set the shop up in about a minute from your phone. They get a free Bookora booking page and website so customers can book them 24/7. It costs the shop nothing to start — they just say yes to free online bookings. Bookora only takes a small cut when a booking actually comes through.

4

Add their new website to Google Maps

This is the step that makes it all work: help the shop add their new Bookora booking website to their Google Maps listing (their Google Business Profile). Now anyone who finds them on Google can book in one tap — that means more visitors, more bookings, and more commission for you. Never done it? Don’t worry — we show you exactly how, it takes two minutes.

5

Earn on every booking they take

From then on, every booking that shop takes through Bookora pays you a share — 10% while they’re on the Free plan, or 2.5% plus £4.99/month if they upgrade to Premium. Automatic, paid monthly, for the life of the shop.

Why Google Maps matters so much: most people find a local barber or salon by searching Google Maps. The moment the shop’s Bookora page is on their Maps listing, those searchers can book online instead of just phoning — so the shop gets more bookings, Bookora gets more traffic, and you earn more. It’s the single best thing you can do after signing a shop up.

Why our agents love it

Two income streams from every shop you sign up

Unlike a one-off finder's fee, your commission keeps paying out every time a business takes a booking through Bookora, and every month it stays on Premium — for as long as they're on the platform and your account's in good standing. Build a base of shops and you're building an income, not chasing a bonus.

10% / 2.5%

A share of every booking

Earn 10% of every booking your shops take while they're on the Free plan, or 2.5% on the Premium plan — always half of Bookora's own fee. Tracked automatically. Paid monthly.

£4.99/mo

Recurring monthly income

For every shop you sign up that's on the £19.99 Premium plan, you earn £4.99 every month — for as long as they stay subscribed. Sign up 20 Premium shops and that's recurring income before a single booking.

£0

No fees, no minimums, uncapped

No setup cost. No quota. No territory limits. Sign up 1 shop or 100 — you earn from every one, for the life of the shop. The programme pays you.

The important bit — in plain English

You get paid on every single booking your shops take

This isn’t a one-off finder’s fee. Every time a shop you signed up takes a booking through Bookora, you earn a cut of that booking — booking after booking, for as long as the shop stays with Bookora. Here’s exactly what you get, side by side:

Shop on the FREE plan

Most shops start here — it costs them £0.

10%
of every booking — paid to you
  • You earn 10% of every booking the shop takes through Bookora.
  • Paid on booking after booking — for the life of the shop.
  • No monthly payment. A Free shop pays no subscription, so there’s nothing monthly to share — but you earn the higher 10% on their bookings.
Example: on a £30 booking, you earn £3.00.
Shop on PREMIUM · £19.99/mo

When a shop upgrades (own domain & more).

2.5%+ £4.99/MO
of every booking — PLUS a guaranteed monthly payment
  • You earn 2.5% of every booking the shop takes.
  • PLUS £4.99 every month the shop stays on Premium — guaranteed, even in a quiet month.
  • Both keep paying for as long as the shop stays subscribed.
Example: on a £30 booking, you earn £0.75plus £4.99 that month.

Why is the booking % lower on Premium? A Free shop pays Bookora 15% per booking and a Premium shop pays just 5%. You earn a flat 10% of every booking you refer to a Free shop, and 2.5% on a Premium shop — and on Premium the smaller booking % is more than made up for by the £4.99 every single month. Free shops have no subscription, so there’s no monthly to share — which is exactly why your booking cut on Free is the bigger 10%. Either way, you get paid on every booking.

Recurring income calculator

The £4.99/month per Premium shop is your predictable base. Move the slider to see how it adds up. Booking commission is on top and varies by how busy each shop is.

How many of your shops are on Premium?

Every Premium shop pays you £4.99/month while they stay subscribed.

Recurring monthly income (subscription share)
£99.80
That's £1,197.60 a year in recurring subscription share — plus booking commission on top.

Shows only the guaranteed £4.99/month subscription share, while each shop stays on Premium. On top of this you earn 2.5% of every Premium booking and 10% of every Free-plan booking — which depends on each shop's booking volume and is not guaranteed. Frequently asked

When do I get paid?
Commission accrues to your agent balance automatically. You request a cash-out from your portal once you're above the £20 minimum; we review it and pay by bank transfer. Amounts below £20 stay in your balance until you reach the threshold.
How much can I really earn?
It's uncapped, but we don't promise a figure — your earnings track real bookings and subscriptions. You have two streams: a share of every booking (10% on Free-plan shops, 2.5% on Premium), plus £4.99/month for every Premium shop, for as long as they stay. The more shops you sign up and the busier they are, the more you earn.
Do I need experience?
No. If you can walk into a shop, smile, and explain what we do (“here's a free booking system for your business”), you can do this. You sign a shop up in about a minute from your phone. Most agents are up and running within their first week.
Is this employment or self-employed?
You're a self-employed, independent affiliate. You set your own hours, pick your own area, and work as much or as little as you want. You're responsible for declaring commission income to HMRC — no tax is deducted at source. Full details are in the Agent Programme Terms.
How quickly will I be approved?
We aim to reply within 24 hours on weekdays. As soon as you're approved you get your agent dashboard, referral link and the in-portal “Sign up a shop” tool.
How does the £4.99/month work?
When a shop you signed up is on the £19.99 Premium plan, you receive £4.99 every month they pay their subscription — the owner keeps the rest. It's credited automatically each time their invoice is paid, for the life of the subscription.
What if a shop I signed up leaves later?
Commission on past, settled bookings is yours. If a shop leaves, you simply stop earning future commission from it. Note that refunded or charged-back bookings can be reversed — see the agent terms.
Can I work in any UK city?
Yes. No territory limits. You can sign up beauty shops anywhere in the UK. Many agents focus on their home town first, then expand.
Do I put the shops on Google Maps? How?
Yes — and it’s one of the most important parts of the job. After you sign a shop up, you help them add their new Bookora booking website to their Google Maps listing (Google Business Profile). That way, when a customer finds the shop on Google, they can book online in one tap — which brings the shop more customers and more bookings, and grows your commission. Never done it before? No problem — it takes a couple of minutes and we show you exactly how, step by step.
How is Bookora different from competitors?
Bookora is a fast-growing UK beauty booking platform with 145,000+ businesses listed. It's free for shops to join (we take a small commission on bookings only), with free Google review imports, SMS reminders, instant Stripe payments, and an optional own domain on Premium. That makes the shop's “yes” easy.
Where are the full terms?
Everything — commission, lifetime attribution, payouts, fraud rules and your responsibilities — is set out in the Agent Programme Terms & Conditions.
