🏠 Getting started

How do I list my business on Bookora?
Sign up as a business owner, complete your profile, add your services and opening hours, and connect Stripe. Your listing goes live once reviewed by our team — usually within 24 hours.
How long does it take to get approved?
We review new listings within 24 hours. You will get an email as soon as you are live. In practice most listings are reviewed within a couple of hours during business days.
Is Bookora free to use for businesses?
Bookora is free to list. We charge a 20% platform commission on completed bookings. Upgrade to our Growth plan (£19.99/month) to reduce commission to 5%.
My business is already showing on Bookora — what is a claimed listing?
We import UK businesses from publicly available data to build a searchable directory. If your business already appears, you can claim it for free — this gives you full control to add services, pricing, your calendar, photos, and more. Claiming takes around 10 minutes.

💲 Payments & commission

When do I receive my payments?
Payments are transferred to your connected Stripe account within 2 business days of a completed booking. You can view a full payout history in your dashboard under Payouts.
What is the Bookora commission?
Free plan: 20% of each completed booking (no monthly fee).
Growth plan: 5% commission + £19.99/month.
Commission is deducted automatically before payout — you never receive an invoice for it.
Do I need a Stripe account?
Yes, Stripe Connect is how we transfer your earnings. It takes about 5 minutes to set up — we will guide you through it during onboarding. You will need your sort code and account number.
What happens if a customer disputes a payment?
Disputes are handled via Stripe. Bookora will provide evidence on your behalf where possible. We recommend keeping your service descriptions accurate and your photos up to date to reduce disputes.

📅 Bookings & calendar

How do I manage my bookings?
Your dashboard shows all upcoming and past bookings in a calendar view. You can confirm, cancel, or reschedule any booking from there. Customers are notified automatically of any changes.
Can I block time off in my calendar?
Yes — go to Calendar → Block Dates to block individual days or date ranges (such as holidays or training days). Blocked dates will not show as available to customers.
What is holiday mode?
Holiday mode pauses all new bookings for a period you choose. Existing confirmed bookings are unaffected. You can activate it from Dashboard → Settings → Holiday mode.
Can I set different hours for different staff?
Yes. Each staff member has their own availability schedule that customers see when booking. You can set individual rotas under Dashboard → Team.

⭐ Growth plan

What is included in the Growth plan?
The Growth plan (£19.99/month) reduces your commission from 20% to 5%, gives you a "Growth Partner" badge on your listing, and unlocks advanced analytics including conversion tracking and customer retention reports.
How do I upgrade to the Growth plan?
Go to Dashboard → Account → Upgrade Plan and subscribe via Stripe. The lower 5% commission applies immediately from the first booking after upgrading.
Can I cancel the Growth plan?
Yes, you can cancel at any time from Dashboard → Account → Billing. You will stay on the Growth plan until the end of the current billing period, then revert to the free 20% commission plan.

💬 Reviews

How are reviews collected?
After a completed booking, we automatically send the customer an email inviting them to leave a review. Only verified customers who booked through Bookora can leave reviews — this keeps your rating trustworthy.
Can I respond to reviews?
Yes — go to Dashboard → Reviews and click "Reply" on any review. Your reply is shown publicly below the customer's review.
Can I remove a negative review?
We only remove reviews that violate our Community Guidelines (e.g. abusive language, spam, or fake reviews). If you believe a review is fraudulent or abusive, click "Report" and our team will investigate within 48 hours.
