Customer Questions

Search for the service you want using the search bar or category chips on the homepage. Select a business, choose a service, pick a date and time, then confirm your booking. You'll receive a confirmation email instantly.
You can browse without an account, but you'll need to create a free account to confirm a booking. It only takes 30 seconds with Google sign-in.
Go to My Account → My Bookings, find the booking and tap Cancel. Cancellation policies vary per business — check the business profile for their policy before booking.
Refunds depend on each business's cancellation policy. If you cancel within the allowed window, your refund will be processed in 5–7 business days back to your original payment method.
You earn points for every completed booking (200pts), review left (100pts), and QR check-in at the shop (50pts). Collect enough points and redeem them for vouchers — 500pts = £2.50, 1000pts = £5, 2000pts = £10.
Just type what you're looking for in plain English — "barber for a fade near me" or "gel nails in Manchester". Bookora automatically detects the service, your location, and finds the best matches sorted by distance and rating.

Click "For Businesses" in the nav and register a business account. Our setup wizard guides you through adding your category, services, opening hours, location, and photos in under 10 minutes.
Yes — listing is completely free. On our Free plan, we take a 30% commission per booking. Upgrade to Starter, Pro, or Enterprise to reduce your commission and unlock more features.
Payouts are processed automatically after a booking is completed. Funds arrive in your bank account within 1–3 business days depending on your bank.
Yes. You can set each service to "Pay online", "Pay at shop", or "Deposit required". Full control is in your dashboard under Services.
Your dashboard has a full calendar view showing all bookings. You can set your availability, block out holidays, and manage staff schedules all in one place.

Everything a first-time Bookora owner needs to go live in under 10 minutes. Pick a tutorial — each one has step-by-step instructions you can follow in another tab.

✂️ Step-by-step: Add your first service
  1. Click Services in the left sidebar of your dashboard.
  2. Hit the + Add service button in the top-right.
  3. Give it a name (e.g. Men's haircut), duration in minutes (e.g. 30), and price in £ (e.g. 15).
  4. Pick a category (Barber, Nails, etc.) — this is how customers find you in search.
  5. Set Pay online if you want money up-front, or Pay at shop if customers pay in person.
  6. Click Save. Your service is live immediately — you'll see it on your public page.
🎨 Step-by-step: Customise your website
  1. Go to Profile in the dashboard sidebar.
  2. Upload a logo (PNG or JPG, square works best) — it appears on every booking page and confirmation email.
  3. Pick your accent colour — buttons, links, and headers adopt it immediately.
  4. Set your opening hours for each day. Customers can only book slots within these hours.
  5. Write a short About (2–3 sentences — what makes you different?).
  6. Add photos of your shop / team (3–5 images is ideal).
  7. Hit Save. Your page at bookora.co.uk/biz/your-slug is updated in seconds.
💷 Step-by-step: Connect your bank for payouts
  1. Open Billing → Payouts (or click the Connect bank CTA on your dashboard).
  2. Click Connect bank — we use a trusted payments partner (the same provider that powers Shopify, Apple, etc.).
  3. On the secure onboarding page, enter your UK bank account, sort code, and business details. Takes ~3 min.
  4. Our payments partner runs a quick verification — usually instant, sometimes up to 24 hr.
  5. Once verified, payouts from every completed booking land in your bank on the next business day.
  6. Bookora's cut: 0% during your 21-day trial, then 30/20/10% based on plan. No hidden fees.
👥 Step-by-step: Invite your staff
  1. Go to Team → Invite member.
  2. Enter their name and email. Pick a role (Staff, Manager, Owner).
  3. Assign which services they offer (e.g. Alex does Haircut + Beard Trim, Sam does Nails only).
  4. Click Send invite. They receive a setup email to create their password.
  5. Once active, customers can book specifically with them or pick Any available.
  6. Each staff has their own calendar — no overlap, no double-bookings.
📅 Step-by-step: View & manage bookings
  1. Click Bookings (or Calendar) in the sidebar.
  2. Switch between Day / Week / Month with the toggle in the top-right.
  3. Tap any booking to see customer name, service, phone, and notes.
  4. Drag a booking to a different time slot to reschedule — the customer is notified automatically.
  5. Need to cancel? Open the booking, hit Cancel, choose a reason, and the customer is refunded per your cancellation policy.
  6. To add a walk-in, click an empty slot → New booking → enter customer details manually.
💬 Step-by-step: Get help anytime
  1. Click the purple chat bubble in the bottom-right (Aissanast, our AI assistant).
  2. Ask anything: "how do I change my logo", "when do I get paid", "how do I add a holiday".
