Refund Policy
Last updated: 4 May 2026
Version: 2.0
Quick answer: Refundability depends on the product. Local services usually allow free cancellation 24h+ in advance. Flights and hotels follow the airline/hotel rules shown at booking. eSIMs are non-refundable once activated. We refund to your original payment method within 5-10 business days of approval.
1Overview
This Refund Policy supplements our Terms of Service. It explains how refunds work for each product Bookora offers and what to do if you need to request one.
2Local services
| Cancellation timing | Refund |
| 24+ hours before appointment | Full refund (typical default; some businesses set their own policy) |
| 2-24 hours before | Often partial / 50% — per the business’s policy shown at booking |
| Less than 2 hours / no-show | Often non-refundable |
| Business cancels or no-shows | Always 100% refunded by Bookora; we may also offer a goodwill voucher |
3Flights
Refundability is set by the airline and shown clearly at booking (“Refundable” / “Non-refundable” pill on each fare).
- Refundable fares: full ticket value refunded minus airline admin fees (typically £35-£75)
- Non-refundable fares: usually only government taxes refundable. We try to recover what we can.
- Airline-cancelled flights: full refund of the ticket price (mandatory under UK 261/2004)
- Schedule changes: if the airline changes departure by more than the threshold (typically 5 hours), you can refund or rebook free of charge
To start a flight refund: go to your booking detail page and tap “Cancel this booking” — we show a refund estimate before you confirm.
4Hotels
- Free cancellation rates: full refund if you cancel before the deadline shown at booking
- Non-refundable rates: no refund; sometimes rebookable to a different date for a fee
- Hotel cancels: full refund + we’ll help find an equivalent alternative
5Activities & transfers
Most activities and transfers allow free cancellation 24-48 hours before the start time. After that window, no refund is possible. Weather-cancelled outdoor activities are fully refunded by the provider.
6eSIMs
- Pre-activation: full refund if requested before you scan the QR code or install the LPA profile
- Post-activation: no refund (the digital good has been delivered)
- Failed activation in-country: if you arrive at your destination and cannot get the eSIM working within 24 hours, contact us — we’ll work with the carrier for a replacement code or refund
7How long does it take?
Once we approve a refund, Stripe processes it back to your original payment method:
- UK debit/credit cards: 5-10 business days
- Apple Pay / Google Pay: 5-10 business days (back to the underlying card)
- SEPA / international cards: up to 14 business days
We will email you when the refund is initiated and again when Stripe confirms it has been sent.
8Vouchers
If you used a voucher that has not expired and your booking is cancelled, the voucher is reinstated to your account along with the cash refund.
9Disputes & chargebacks
Before raising a chargeback with your bank, please contact us at support@bookora.co.uk — in nearly every case we can resolve faster directly. Initiating a chargeback before contacting us may result in your account being suspended pending dispute resolution.
10Statutory rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy reduces your statutory consumer rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018, where applicable.
